Town Hall Meeting

The Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce developed an electronic forum for the 2010 Municipal, County and Educational election.

The forum was moderated and allowed all citizens and businesses the opportunity to direct questions either to specific candidates or to the entire slate of candidates running for office.

All candidates were invited to participate in this forum and had the opportunity to place a short biography as well as provide a short narrative on their specific plans and goals if elected in their respective areas. The Forum included candidates for municipal and county council, mayor and school board trustee positions.

The objective was to provide a meaningful exchange of information between all parties, which allowed each candidate the opportunity to outline why they would be the best choice for the future development of the community. Chamber President Michael Weinstein commented that “I am pleased that the Chamber of Commerce has launched this initiative. It offers a central point for both the general public and business community to become engaged in the upcoming election as well as being educated voters”.
