A Message from Dana Burdenuk, General Manager:

DanaBurdenuk250Good afternoon everyone,

We’d like to recognize and thank one of our Centre Wellington Chamber members, B&R Nassagaweya Trucking in Belwood, for raising awareness about the serious issues facing truck drivers who are unable to access washrooms at some truck stops and are being refused access to facilities at the businesses where they are delivering essential goods. This story has now become national news and as a result of B&R and the Chamber network advocating for the rights and dignities of drivers, action is being taken to develop solutions and safety guidelines specific to truckers. Canada’s short and long-distance truckers are vital to economic growth – approximately 70% of Canadian goods are transported by truck. Latest news on this issue can be found here.

I’d like to ask all of our local businesses to share the unique ways that you are still serving our community. In our upcoming PULSE e-newsletters, we will feature these great member initiatives and information that is helpful to other businesses.

Please stay tuned for details about the upcoming  Virtual Town Hall Meeting that we will be co-hosting with the Township of Centre Wellington, with a focus on the support and reliefs available to businesses right now.

We’re in this together!
