MPP Ted Arnott discussed some of the decisions that have been made at the provincial level, including decisions to amend Acts such as the Education Act and the Police Services Act. These decisions have allowed necessary changes to be implemented based on mandates put in place.

Ted answered a listener question relating to tenants and landlords and support regarding rent payments, and spoke to whether we can anticipate more changes to the essential businesses list.

Kelly Linton, Mayor of Centre Wellington and Warden of Wellington County, spoke about property tax payments being deferred, and shared that all seven municipalities within Wellington County are working together on decisions such as this and did all make and announce the same decision.

Kelly answered a question regarding how the Township is enforcing mandates around physical distancing and business closures. He also provided more information on the Keep Well Emergency Fund, which is a fund of $1 million available to provide low-interest loans to Wellington County businesses. He also addressed the use of public spaces and whether we may see changes in how these can be used as the weather improves.
