A Message from Dana Burdenuk, General Manager:

DanaBurdenuk250

Good afternoon,

With Premier Ford's announcement this week about further reopening Ontario's economy by public health region, Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph has been given the go-ahead to move into Stage 2 as of Friday, June 12th. This raises many questions for our local businesses as you prepare to safely reopen with the required health and safety policies and precautions in place for your staff, customers, and the public. Please check out CWCC's COVID-19 Business Resources Portal to access our "Returning to Work Safely Toolkit" where you'll find the detailed lists of Stage 1 and 2 openings by region, sector-specific safety guidelines, posters, our local PPE supplier list, and more!

I also invite you to read RBC's Small Business, Big Pivot: A devastating downturn, and how Canadian enterprises can transition - an economic research report outlining how the landscape has shifted for small-and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) during the COVID-19 pandemic. The report includes a tangible plan with 5 ways to help small businesses thrive in a post-pandemic economy. Read the report here.

Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health has issued a class order effective Friday, June 12, 2020 requiring commercial establishments providing goods and services to the public to provide alcohol-based hand sanitizer for public use at all entrances and exits, and require customers and employees to wear a mask or face covering. This raises a number of other questions for our local business community. We're pleased to be partnering with Beyond Rewards HR and the Minto Chamber of Commerce to host an Open Forum on June 17th with speakers from WDG Public Health, Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development from both Health & Safety and Employment Standards. This is a great opportunity to engage directly with WDG Public Health and MLTSD to address your questions. Please click here to register.

Keep healthy and please stay connected!

ASK THE AUDIENCE!

Yesterday should have been CWCC's Annual Golf Day. Due to current circumstances, it was postponed but we would like your thoughts on rescheduling and hosting an adjusted version of the Golf Day.

  • Anticipated timing would be September
  • We do not anticipate being able to have live sponsor presence on the course
  • Other adjustments TBD, but we would not be able to deliver the lunch and supper in the traditional group format

Please see below and share your opinion! We appreciate your help!

Have additional thoughts?! Email Sally at events@cwchamber.ca.

Your Involvement with the CWCC Golf Tournament - Which one describes you best!

I don't golf so this event isn't a good fit for me. Select
I have played in this event before, but won't be able to make the time this year Select
I would be interested in playing in 2020, even with an adjusted (18 hole) format Select
Not much of a golfer, don't usually play, but I would if it was a 9 hole Select
Without the networking outside of my 4some, this event isn't a good fit for me Select
