Expanded CEBA Now Partially Available
After a week’s delay, the expanded Canada Emergency Business Account loan program is now available; however, only if you bank with one of Canada’s six largest banks. The CEBA expansion will be available from more lenders over the coming weeks. To apply for a CEBA contact your primary financial institution. Read more here

Feeding Your Future: Connecting Ontario’s Agri-Food Workforce
OFA wants to make it easier for employers to find, train, and retain the workers they need, and help employ Ontarians with meaningful jobs during COVID-19 and beyond. Through Canadian Agricultural Partnership funding, OFA and its partners have coordinated a support system for agriculture and food employers from field to fork to fill labour shortages and encourage job seekers across the province to consider a career in agriculture and food. Ontario Extends Emergency Orders to July 10
The Ontario government has extended all emergency orders currently in force under s.7.0.2 (4) of the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act until until July 10, 2020 , while removing restrictions that were limiting access to certain sport training facilities. Ontario Provides Stable Electricity Pricing for Industrial and Commercial Companies
The Ontario government is helping large industrial and commercial companies return to full levels of operation without the fear of electricity costs spiking by providing more stable electricity pricing for two years. Read more here.

Ontario Increasing Oversight of Towing Industry
The Ontario government is establishing a task force to improve provincial oversight of the towing industry.The task force will help develop a regulatory model that will increase safety and enforcement, clarify protections for consumers, improve industry standards and consider tougher penalties for violators. The government is taking this action in response to concerns raised about incidents of criminal activity and violence in the towing industry. News release here.

New Toolkit Will Help Employers Create Safer Working Environments for Employees During COVID-19
The Ontario government is providing employers with a new general workplace guide, which will help them develop a safety plan to better protect workers, customers and clients. The new downloadable toolkit offers tips on how to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 as more people get back on the job during Stage 2 of the reopening of the province. Read more here.

Temporary Extension for Recalling Laid Off Employees in the Federally Regulated Private Sector

Government Provides Update on Sales Tax and Duty Payment Deferral
With a broad range of measures and support programs now in place to help and provide assistance to those businesses and individuals most affected by the economic impacts of the pandemic through the COVID -19 Economic Response Plan, the Government of Canada confirms that the GST/HST and customs duty payment deferral is ending as planned on June 30.
