A Message from Dana Burdenuk, General Manager:

DanaBurdenuk250

Good afternoon,

With my last day at CWCC quickly approaching, I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support. I've had an amazing and rewarding experience working with and serving our members, staff, board, partners, and volunteers. While I am quite excited for my new position here in the Centre Wellington community, I am also sad to say good bye. I will treasure my time, experiences and the wonderful relationships developed here. Thank you.

I'm delighted to let you know that our Board of Directors has appointed Sally Litchfield to the position of Interim General Manager upon my departure. Sally has been with CWCC since April 2019, in a role that has grown to include event planning, bookkeeping, and communications. Sally, along with Elaine Black and the board, will continue the good work and build on the momentum that our team has created. Please join me in congratulating Sally and wishing her the very best in her new role! Sally can be reached at events@cwchamber.ca.

In an effort to learn how the pandemic has affected our local businesses and what kind of support and assistance will be required moving forward, the Township of Centre Wellington and the Economic Recovery Subcommittee are asking local business owners to complete a short business support survey. The survey, which was launched this week, will allow business owners to share their experience during COVID-19, identify what programs or services they have already been accessed, and clarify what else is needed immediately. We encourage all CW business owners to take a few minutes to complete the survey here.

Please check out our latest Member Moments video! I had the opportunity to sit down with Roger Gratton and Rebekah Mullin of JSMD Logistics Inc., to learn more about their business and the fantastic shipping solutions (and discounts!) that are available exclusively for our Chamber members through our Affinity Partnership. Check out our interview here. Interested in participating in our Member Moments video series? Email us at chamber@cwchamber.ca!

Keep healthy and please stay connected!

CWOW - Collaborative Women of Wellington County

CWCC is proud to announce the launch of this new working committee!

“We are excited to be able to bring this offering to Wellington County. The group has worked hard to finalize their mission, vision, and core activities and ensure that they fit with the needs of professional women in this community,” comments Janet Harrop, Treasurer of CWCC’s Board of Directors and member of the CWOW committee.

The committee has already begun to set the stage to host quarterly events where participants will be invited to relate, to learn, and to network with other women. The primary vision is to inspire and to empower women in business through education, collaboration, and mentorship.

CWOW is striving to connect and engage with committed and professional women. The vision of the group is to be inclusive. Regardless of whether you own a company, work for a company, or are a leader in your home, this group will have something for you as we learn and grow together as committed individuals in our community.

If you are interested in sharing your knowledge and experience while learning from one another, please subscribe to receive CWOW’s emails or follow the Facebook page to stay up to date!
