Ontario Unveils Guiding Principles to Reopen the Province

Premier and Ministers Commit to New Phased Approach for a Safe Restart and Recovery

The Ontario government released  A Framework for Reopening our Province , which outlines the criteria Ontario's Chief Medical Officer of Health and health experts will use to advise the government on the loosening of emergency measures, as well as guiding principles for the safe, gradual reopening of businesses, services and public spaces. New website promotes shopping local in CW during COVID-19

“Keep the businesses we love, in business” is a primary focus for the Township, and the theme for the new Shop Local CW website to be launched later this week to assist our local businesses during these unprecedented times. A partnership between the Township and the Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce sparked the idea that will give consumers the ability to visit  www.shoplocalcw.ca  and purchase gift cards online, then redeem those gift cards at a later time, once businesses have re-opened their doors.


Ontario-Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance Program

The Ontario Government is committing $241 million to partner with the federal government and deliver more than $900 million in urgent relief to small businesses and their landlords through a new program, the Ontario-Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance Program (OCECRA). Read more here

 


MHSTCI Stakeholder Survey

The Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries (MHSTCI) is seeking your input on what the Ministry needs to do to help businesses survive this crisis, and look to the future with confidence and hope. If you are interested in participating, they are asking for your input by April 30th. The stakeholder survey can be found at this  link

 

Business Impact Survey 2.0

In an effort to monitor  COVID19  impacts on your business, Wellington County is participating in a business survey being coordinated across Southwestern Ontario. The information collected will be used by staff and shared in confidence with the  Western Ontario Wardens Caucus  (WOWC) to gain a more fulsome regional perspective and provide some high level reporting so that we can advocate on your behalf with all levels of government. Complete the survey by April 30th here

 


Connect CW offers virtual experiences

At a time when we are all practicing self-isolation and physical distancing due to COVID-19, it is important now more than ever to come together and celebrate the innovation and local talent that's happening in Centre Wellington. The Township has added a new virtual platform to Connect CW, a one-stop community hub linking residents to activities, workshops and virtual experiences related to recreation, leisure, fitness, well-being, education, culture, arts and more.
